GERMANTOWN MAN TO SERVE FIVE YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR SECOND-DEGREE ASSAULT AND THIRD-DEGREE SEX OFFENSE

Frederick, MD – Today, in Frederick County Circuit Court, The Honorable Julie Stevenson Solt, sentenced 25-year-old Adam Christopher Jaikaran to 20 years in the Department of Corrections, with all but five years suspended.  The defendant was indicted by a Grand Jury and pleaded guilty on October 27, 2025.  The defendant will receive credit for time served since August 2024, when he was originally arrested in this case.

On November 8, 2023, a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer at a local middle school was notified after a student disclosed she had been sexually assaulted.  After a thorough investigation by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, it was determined that the 13-year-old student was sexually assaulted by the defendant in the early morning hours of November 5, 2023, at a park in Frederick County.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the victim and several juvenile friends had met the defendant at the park after the victim communicated with him through Snapchat. Witnesses provided a vehicle description, photographs, and a temporary tag number linked to a white Tesla. The registration check identified the vehicle as belonging to the defendant.

Detectives conducted interviews with the victim and witnesses, corroborating details regarding the suspect, vehicle, and timeline.  Search warrants were later executed for location data associated with the Tesla, which placed the vehicle in the area of the park during the reported timeframe.

The victim wrote in her Victim Impact Statement, “I don’t feel safe anymore.  It’s exhausting living in fear all the time.  What hurts the most is it affected my entire family too.”

State’s Attorney Charlie Smith said, “I can’t overstate the need for parents to have frank discussions with their kids.  Middle schoolers are such a vulnerable group, and Defendants like Jaikaran are everywhere online looking to exploit them.”

Upon release, the defendant is ordered to serve five years of supervised probation with all standard conditions.  Special conditions include COMET supervision, which involves GPS monitoring for high-risk offenders.  The defendant will also be required to register as a Sex Offender for 25 years.

Chief of District Court, Assistant State’s Attorney Kristin King represented the State of Maryland.
